Skin thickening of hand and feet, dry cracked soles and palms

Thickened skin on the hands and feet, along with dry and cracked soles and palms, can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful. 
Causes
  1. Calluses:

    • Formed due to repeated pressure or friction.
    • Common in people who engage in manual labor or wear ill-fitting shoes.
  2. Eczema (Dermatitis):

    • Chronic skin condition causing inflammation, itching, and dryness.
    • Can lead to thickened, cracked skin.
  3. Psoriasis:

    • Autoimmune condition that speeds up skin cell turnover.
    • Results in thick, scaly patches.
  4. Fungal Infections:

    • Athlete’s foot can cause thick, cracked skin on the feet.
    • May also cause itchiness and redness.
  5. Keratosis Pilaris:

    • Buildup of keratin leading to rough patches.
    • Often affects hands and feet.
  6. Hypothyroidism:

    • Underactive thyroid can lead to dry, thickened skin.
  7. Scleroderma:

    • Autoimmune disorder causing hardening and thickening of the skin.
